Design and Evaluation of a Cyber Protection Team Planner Work Aid

Cyber Protection Teams (CPTs) are responsible for providing mission assurance by ensuring that mission-relevant cyber terrain is secure and protected operations. In order to do this effectively, CPT planners must correlate integrate information regarding customers’ missions with about the systems networks required perform those missions. To support challenge, a Planner work aid was designed evaluated assess its effectiveness. The evaluation compared current planning methods. Ten participants varying expertise performed four tasks (managing approvals, assigning resources, managing accesses, scheduling meetings). test efficacy of proposed aid, were tasked fictional utilizing both traditional method method. Data collected from objective metrics include time task performance score, as well subjective perception workload. addition, asked series situation awareness (SA) questions after each measure their understanding information. Score answer SA also recorded. While experience did not have significant effect on performance, results revealed improvements in time, question response perceived workload when using versus baseline condition.
